The Library
The Library will in due course contain the original Peter Littman Corpus (PLC) papers in high definition scanned form.
By making the full PLC thus available, we are giving approved researchers wishing to delve into the core material the opportunity to do so. The original 40,000+ handwritten pages are stored in archive grade folders and boxes.
The collection is complete in that it comprises everything found at PWL’s apartment in Cap d’Antibes, where he spent his last fourteen years. Although he was quite diligent in preserving his writings, some pages were unfortunately lost; including several thousand in the aftermath of a 1984 car accident.
Despite being quite capable of working a keyboard, PWL preferred to do his scientific work in longhand. Both because he found it difficult to fit mathematical formulas and calculations into typed text, and because he often needed to use Greek and Hebrew letters as well as various mathematical and historical symbols.
Unfortunately his handwriting, eccentric to begin with, deteriorated considerably as he aged.
Library access will be free of charge, but granted on application at our absolute discretion. We reserve the right to revoke access at any time.
Please note that the application form is NOT YET ACTIVE.
